The Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s

The 1963 March on Washington was a watershed event for the modern Civil Rights Movement with over 250,000 in attendance. Hollywood celebrities such as Harry Belafonte, Marlon Brando, Lena Horne, and Charlton Heston were also there to hear Martin Luther King challenge the world with his "I Have a Dream" speech.
